Jersey Battle of Flowers

Jersey's flower parade began in 1902 for the coronation of Edward VII. Parish teams, clubs and families build floats covered in thousands of flowers, shown in a daytime parade and again, lit up, in the Moonlight Parade.

How it works

  • Floats are entered in floral and paper classes, in senior and junior sections.
  • The top awards are the Prix d'Honneur, the Prix d'Excellence and the Grand Prix des Fleurs, with special awards for design, costume, animation and illumination.
  • The name comes from the early parades, when flowers were thrown from the floats into the crowd.

Recent years

The full parade was cancelled in 2025 and a smaller free event was held. It returned to Victoria Avenue in 2026 with more than twenty float entries.
