Flower parade, Philippines

Panagbenga Festival

Baguio, in the mountains of northern Luzon, holds a month-long flower festival each February. Its high point is a parade of flower-covered floats competing in small, medium and large categories.

How it works

  • Floats compete in small, medium and large categories. In 2026 there were 25 competing floats; in 2025 a record 44.
  • Prize money is large by festival standards: a million pesos for the champion large float in 2026.
  • Winners are announced a few days after the parade.

History

The festival began in 1996 to help the city recover from the 1990 earthquake. 2026 was its thirtieth edition.
